Sunday Times Cycle Girl 21.11.10

Was over the moon to be asked write a piece for The Sunday Times Cycling column last week.  My article was about ladies Bike, what exactly us girls want from our bikes and how the market if beginning to react to our needs ...

Here's a snippet...

"We want a touch of vintage charm. Cycling hasn't always been about chunky calves and going hell for leather. It used to be regarded as graceful and calm. Bicycles had manners and finesse not mud spattered suspension forks"

I adore these Photo's from budding photographer Amber Smith. The vintage bike and the misty lilac/grey colours work a dream. Also loving the models hair...
Amber just shot our Christmas Gift Guide Brochure for us and did a fab job.  If you are looking for Christmas gift inspiration and are not on our mailing list already email us your address and we'll post one out to you caz@cyclechic.co.uk

The Muse reviews the SF Bike Expo

Models at the Pedal Savvy Fashion Show
Last Saturday we excitedly hauled our cookies all the way to San Francisco to promote our US sister site The Bicycle Muse at the SF bike expo.  The one day event was held at The Cow Palace, a huge venue just outside the city, where Elvis once played. He had left the building when we got there but a lot of people interested in bicycles had arrived!

There was a refreshingly underground feel to the event. It began it's life as a 'bike swap', where people show up with their bikes, parts etc and swap with other attendees. There is still a whole room dedicated to the bike swap but the event has now grown to a consumer and trade show for small, upcoming brands like ourselves to larger, established brand such as Nutcase.
We were given a warm welcome on the day and relished the opportunity to talk to customers. We had our full selection of products on display as well as showcasing some new exciting, stylish hi vis gear from Irish Brand Georgia in Dublin.

The Pedal Savvy Fashion show went down a storm and we were proud to have Meli from Bikes and the City modeling the wonderful YAKKAY helmets in Herringbone Paris working perfectly with her monochrome outfit.

Thanks for the warm welcome and hello to all the people we connected with; My Dutch Bike, Rickshaw bags, Po Campo, Pedal Panties, and a big thank you to Timbuk2 bags for the lift!

The Bicycle Muse at the SF Bike Expo

Looking forward to our forthcoming trip to the fabulous cycling city of San Francisco for the SF Bike Expo at Cows Palace on Sat 6th November. We will be there promoting our new US site The Bicycle Muse and will be selling our lovely helmets, panniers and other beautiful bicycle bits and bobs.
We will be doing YAKKAY helmet fitting and will be giving customers a sneaky peak of our long awaited vintage box bags.
We are also very excited to be taking part in the Pedal Savvy Fashion show, showing off the best of the best in the Cycle Fashion world.
It may be a bit far to come from the UK but for all our US readers, if you are n the bay area please come down and say hello!
